Rajivika model of Dholpur : Dholpur has created its own identity at the international level. Now women of some African countries have adopted this model and made it a means of livelihood. In West African countries Senegal and Mali, about 12 thousand women are learning this model to meet their household expenses. Rajivika women of Dholpur have gone to Senegal and Mali and given training in forming self-help groups, village organizations and federations. At the same time, Rajivika’s Panchsutras have also been taught. In this, information was given about weekly meeting, weekly savings, internal borrowing, loan repayment and record maintenance. Now women of African countries are earning well through their products.
Women from many countries came to see the model: Recently, women from many countries including Africa reached Dholpur to see Rajivika model. The 15-member model included women from countries like Germany, France, Canada, Mali, Senegal etc. They discussed with the representatives of Manjari Foundation working on this model in the district. Here he visited his friend Producer Company Limited in Bijauli of Bari subdivision and also talked to the representatives of the company. Here she understood the process from making the product to delivering it to the market on behalf of women’s groups.
Taught tricks, now saving crores of rupees: Some women associated with Rajivika Model of Dholpur visited African countries Mali and Senegal in the past. Here she told the local women about the formation of self-help groups and how they work. She also gave them training on the methods of forming and operating village organizations and federations and the manufacturing of various types of products. At the same time, the process of loan from banks was explained. Today, women of these countries are saving about Rs 17 crore in a year.
75 thousand women are involved in the district: More than 7 and a half thousand self-help groups are working in the district under Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council (Rajivika). About 80 thousand rural women are directly involved in these. In Rajivika, 60 percent of the budget is given by the Center and 40 percent by the State Government.
