Dholpur : Dholpur/Janjgir Former BSP MLA of Dholpur BL Kushwaha has been sentenced to 7 years in jail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate in the case of fraud of Rs 2 crore 67 lakh. He has already been in jail for five years during the trial. District Prosecution Officer Nand Kumar Patel said that Rajasthan’s chit fund company Garima Home Real Estate and Allied Company had opened its office at Lions Chowk in Champa of Janjgir-Champa district. Some people of the area fell into the trap of the company and joined it.
The company promised to double the amount in five years by depositing the amount through an agent and after collecting around Rs 2 crore 67 lakh 48 thousand 374, it packed its bags and went away. When the investors saw the office locked, they realized they had been cheated. Investor Dilchand Dewangan’s father Kishan Dewangan had filed a report in the matter. On his report, the police arrested the company director and former Dholpur MLA Banwari Lal Kushwaha. The case went on in the court for five years. After hearing the witnesses and examining the evidence, Chief Judicial Magistrate Sarva Vijay Aggarwal on Saturday found him guilty in the case and sentenced him to seven years in jail. In the year 2012, in the Naresh Kushwaha murder case, Kushwaha was serving life imprisonment in Bharatpur Sewar jail since 2016. He has recently been released on bail. In this regard, District Prosecution Officer Nand Kumar Patel informed that if the accused in this case has been sentenced in any other case punishable with imprisonment for more than three years, then there is a provision to increase the punishment up to life imprisonment.
{4 accused are still out of the reach of the police… Apart from BL Kushwaha, a case was also registered against Shivram Kushwaha, Bal Kishan Kushwaha, Jitendra Kumar and Vijendra Pal Singh in the fraud case. But till now the police has been able to arrest only BL Kushwaha. The other four accused are still absconding. The court has ordered the police to arrest him and present him in the court.
{The former MLA was serving imprisonment since 2016… Considering him accused of conspiracy in the 2012 Naresh Kushwaha murder case, the Dholpur ADJ Court had sentenced former MLA Kushwaha to life imprisonment in 2016. He was serving his sentence in Sewar jail of Bharatpur. Relief was received from the Supreme Court in March 2024. The Supreme Court had granted bail to the former MLA.
{Bail granted after 8 years… Former MLA BL Kushwaha is on bail since November 29. In 2016, former MLA BL Kushwaha was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Dholpur ADJ Court, considering him an accused of murder conspiracy in the 2012 Naresh Kushwaha murder case. Was serving sentence in Sewar jail. He was released on bail from Sewar jail on 29 November after the paperwork of the cases was completed. But their troubles do not seem to be reducing yet.
{Jailed only three years after becoming MLA, wife also MLA… Kushwaha contested the assembly elections on behalf of BSP in 2013 and won from Dholpur, in 2016 the court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the Naresh murder case. After this, BL Kushwaha’s wife Shobharani Kushwaha entered politics and won the by-election held in 2017. She was also elected MLA in the elections held in 2019 and 2023.
