There are hopes of formation of Dholpur Municipal Board for the first time in the new year. The hopes of many people of becoming public representatives by becoming councilors in the municipality have started rising. However, the Election Department has started the process of formation of wards by starting the election process. 25 wards are being formed under Sarmathura Municipality. Due to Congress’ dominance in Sarmathura region, BJP is eyeing the municipality. However, Congress is in control of the Panchayat Samiti. After Sarmathura got the status of municipality in 2021, the Sarpanch has got the charge of the Chairman of the Municipality. If we look at the history of Sarmathura, BJP has never got an edge here. The circumstances for formation of the board in these elections are also favorable for Congress. But if the public elects the president then the fortunes of any party can improve. However, despite having a majority of minority votes in the municipality, this community has got the opportunity to represent Sarmathura for the first time. Jalaluddin Khan is the chairman of the municipality after it became a municipality from Panchayat in 2021. However, the tenure is ending in January 2025. People have started discussions on Chaupals while waiting for the end of their term.
Brahmin community had maximum dominance in the Panchayat: If we look at the history of Sarmathura Gram Panchayat, after the formation of the Panchayat, it was Bhikam Singh Sikarwar who first represented it for 19 years. After 1980, it was captured twice by Chhaganlal Upadhyay and twice by Brijkishore Rajpurohit. However, the public once again gave a chance to Chhaganlal Upadhyay. After which the public did not give anyone a second chance. Once Saroj Garg, once Kedar Singh Meena and once Ramroop Meena got the opportunity to represent Sarmathura Gram Panchayat. At present, the public had given Jalaluddin Khan the opportunity to represent the Gram Panchayat, but after the formation of the Municipality, the government handed over the charge of the Chairman.
