Dholpur : The dream of the girls regularly studying in class 9th of Dholpur Government School, of getting a free bicycle, has been fulfilled. It was only after half the session had passed that the state government finally distributed bicycles to the daughters. Whereas for the last two years, government school girls were waiting for free bicycles.
After technical testing by the Education Department officials, bicycles were distributed to 596 daughters in Raumavi on Thursday. The daughters’ faces lit up after receiving the bicycle. After all, it was natural for the daughters to smile as they got bicycles after a long wait of two years. CBEO Jitendra Singh Jadaun said that free cycles have been distributed to 596 girls studying in class 9th in government schools. He told that this scheme was started in the year 2011. The objective of which was to promote girls’ education in remote rural areas. He said that the last time free bicycles were distributed in the state by the previous government was in November 2021. Teacher Raju Sen said that 123 girls of the girls’ school alone have received free bicycles. On this occasion, all the teachers including Vice Principal Bhagwan Das, Niranjan, Pushpendra Sharma, physical teacher Dharampal Barala were present.
Saffron colored bicycle found
The objective of the Chief Minister Free Cycle Distribution Scheme 2024 is to provide assistance in education to the girl students of the state and to make their journey easier. The government has selected the saffron colored bicycles keeping in mind the cultural significance and historical context. A basket has also been installed in the bicycle to keep stationery.
