Dholpur : The college administration is using the academic building, male and female hostels, mess block constructed during the first phase in Dholpur Government Medical College, but the handover of the resident hostel and nurse hostel has not been taken yet. Due to which, along with gathering of anti-social elements in vacant buildings, cases of theft are also coming to light. Resident doctors are also forced to live in rented houses.
One year has passed since the resident hostel and nurse hostel were completed during the first phase. These houses have been constructed by RSRDC Company. Information about completion and handover of residences was sent to the college manager through written letters thrice in a year by the company. But still the college manager is not handing over these residences. Due to which the concentration of anti-social elements is increasing in these residences. Many times even theft of electrical equipment has taken place here. So the resident doctors are living in rented houses. Those who have to face difficulties in coming to the district hospital. However, the college manager says that the work on these hostels has not been completed yet. The arrangement of light fitting is in limbo at many places.
Thefts have taken place from empty hostels
When Manish Singhal, the contractor of RSRDC company was talked to in this matter, he told that during the first phase, the construction of resident hostel and nurse hostel has almost been completed. Due to non-handover by the college administration, thefts occur regularly from these residences. The thieves have made away with electrical wires and equipment worth Rs 15 lakh. Whose complaint was lodged at the Housing Board post. Regarding the handover of the buildings, the first letter has been handed over to the college manager on 14 August 2023, the second on 4 October 2023 and the third letter on 5 November 2024.
