Traders have expressed anger over finding the weight of mustard less than one and a quarter quintal in the truck. On Monday morning, there was an altercation between the representatives and employees of the buyer firms regarding the issue of weighing of religion. Bharatpur Oil Mill Association has sent a letter to Karauli Collector Neelabh Saxena complaining about mustard not being delivered to the oil companies by trucks as per the purchased weight. Traders said that the mustard purchased by NAFED from farmers at MSP is stored in the warehouses of Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation (RSWC). In which there are about 4.50 lakh pieces of mustard. NAFED had issued a tender for endorsement of 1 lakh 40 thousand of these cuttings.
Which is being purchased by the oil mills of Bharatpur, Alwar and Kota. Under endorsement tender, mustard is being sold from the godowns of RSWC located in village Dhara. When the truck loaded with mustard seeds was weighed at RSWC’s Dharmakanta and other Dharmakanta, the buyers were shocked to see a reduction of 90 to 110 kg in the weight. Anwar Khan, representative of Bharatpur’s Garg Oil Industries, said that despite informing the local manager of RSWC several times, no action has been taken. On raising questions regarding irregularities in weighing on Monday morning, the traders were misbehaved by the personnel present on the spot. Due to the uproar, the loading and weighing work of mustard boxes from the warehouse remained slow in the morning. In such a situation, a long queue of trucks formed on the road outside. In this case, Bharatpur Oil Mill Association President Krishna Kumar Aggarwal has complained in a letter sent to Karauli Collector that NAFED weighs mustard with the right fork of its warehouse, but its weight is less on other forks.
