New Delhi, November 29 (IANS). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reviewed the party’s defeat in the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Friday. He also expressed concern about the performance of Congress in these elections.
He appealed to the party workers to focus on local issues keeping in mind the internal differences and questions being raised on EVMs. While appreciating the possible comeback of Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he also acknowledged that the party did not get the results as expected in the subsequent assembly elections.
In the meeting, the Congress President congratulated Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and Vasantrao Chavan, the newly elected MP from Nanded.
He said, “After the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress had come back with a new energy, but then the election results of three states were not as per our expectations. We have to be strengthened at every step from the voter list to the counting of votes.
