Dispute between the former royal family of Mewar came on the streets, commotion and stone pelting

Udaipur News Desk: The dispute arising between the former royal family of Mewar regarding entry into the City Palace came to the streets on Monday. Late in the night the dispute escalated so much that stone pelting started outside the City Palace gate. Seeing the situation worsening, the police chased away the stone pelters. A CI and five other people have been injured in stone pelting. Late in the night, at 12.15, Vishwaraj Singh got up from Mewar Lalghat and left for Samorbagh and also asked his supporters to go home. On the other hand, due to lack of consensus, the Collector late in the night attached the disputed portion of the City Palace and appointed a receiver over it.

In fact, after the death of former royal family member and former MP Mahendra Singh Mewar, a turban dastur program was organized in Chittorgarh on Monday as his successor. After this Vishwaraj Singh reached Mewar, Udaipur. The police-administration already deployed here stopped his convoy at Samor Bagh turn. After talks with their delegation, the police allowed three vehicles to enter the barricading. During this his supporters raised slogans loudly. Eventually all the supporters broke the barricades and reached inside.

From here, they marched on foot via Shitala Mata Temple and reached Jagdish Chowk, where they could not go towards City Palace due to the barricades. Late night suddenly stone pelting started near City Palace Gate (Jagdish Temple). Some people got hurt in this. The police controlled the situation within some time. On the other hand, the other side is saying that Vishvaraj Singh should not be allowed to enter Mewar under any circumstances.

This is the reason for the dispute

Actually, after the turban-dastur ceremony of Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, a program was decided to visit the Dhuni site of City Palace. The controversy started from here. The present City Palace is being run by Arvind Singh Mewar, younger brother of Mahendra Singh Mewar. Arvind Singh Mewar’s side banned the entry of anyone without permission.

Disputed portion attached, receiver appointed

After stone pelting and heated atmosphere till late night over the dispute of entering the City Palace, the District Magistrate (City) attached the disputed site and appointed Ghantaghar police station officer as receiver. While giving the report of the entire incident before the District Magistrate, the police station officer had cited the deterioration in law and order. On the report, the District Magistrate attached the route leading from Badi Pol to Dhuni and Zanana Mahat at the disputed site City Palace and the place where Dhuni was located and appointed Ghantaghar police station officer as receiver in the case.

no agreement reached

During the atmosphere in Jagdish Chowk, Vishwaraj Singh’s delegation reached Tripolia Gate of City Palace, where talks took place with Collector Arvind Poswal, IG Rajesh Meena, SP Yogesh Goyal, but no agreement was reached for entry.
