Sriganganagar : Sriganganagar Education Department has started preparations for distribution of free tablets to the topper students of Board Exam-2024. The Directorate of Secondary Education has issued instructions to all DEOs Secondary for the verification of the board examination results of 18 thousand students including 700 of the districts selected in the state merit of class 8th, 10th and 12th. Directorate of Education has released the cut off marks of the candidates selected in the state merit of all three classes including Praveeshika and Senior Vice Principal.
At the same time, at the district level, the work of matching the cut off marks of the students selected in the state merit with the original mark sheet has also been completed by the DEO. However, this time also the Education Department has not included the topper students of Agriculture Faculty in the merit list selected for the free tablet scheme. Topper students passed from Agriculture Faculty will not get tablets this year also. Actually, earlier agriculture was operated as a subject. But the previous state government recognized agriculture as a separate faculty in 2020. Now agriculture is not a subject but is being taught as a separate faculty in 398 government schools of the state. Let us inform that the state merit cutoff class wise for the year 2024 has been released, now the process of distribution of tablets will also be started soon. According to ADEO Secondary Vedprakash Jalandhar, the district has been asked to check the results of these board exams and verify their numbers so that tablets can be distributed to those students.
This list includes 6000 students of class 8th, 5880 students of class 10th, 120 of Praveshika, 2864 of 12th Arts, 2593 of 12th Science, 423 of 12th Commerce and 120 students of Senior Upadhyaya. To verify their examination results, the Directorate of Secondary Education has instructed all the District Education Officers to verify the number of students by matching them with the original mark sheet of the students included in the state merit of their district. Let us tell you that like the state merit, 100 meritorious students included in the district merit will be allotted free tablets in the first phase, the list of which will be prepared by the District Education Officer, Secondary Headquarters at the district level.
