Sriganganagar : The first district conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) was held at Vyapar Mandal Bhavan on Monday evening. The program started with the flag hoisting by senior comrade Laxman Singh. The conference was presided over by Comrade Laxman Singh, Comrade Kalu Thori and Comrade Hari Krishna Nayak. State Secretary Board member and conference in-charge Comrade Dulichand especially participated in this. Sriganganagar District Secretary Comrade Sheopat Ram presented the one year report.
In which details of various movements of the district and contribution of CPI(M) were given. It was told in the report that CPI(M) has been continuously fighting for the problem of canal water, increasing drug addiction, unemployment and farmers’ rights. Calling for struggle against drugs, chief speaker Comrade Dulichand said that the aim of CPI(M) is to provide its rights to every section of the society. While BJP is trying to divide the society in the name of caste, religion and class, CPI(M) has been fighting on the basic issues of the people. Our aim is to organize and make youth, farmers and women aware.
Comrade Sheopat Ram said that Anupgarh is an agricultural district, where there have been big movements for canal water. CPI(M) has played a major role in these movements. He called for a strong struggle against the increasing drug abuse and unemployment in the district.
