Jaipur : There is a tradition of lighting lamps during Diwali. During Diwali, lamps are lit in every house. This pleases Goddess Lakshmi and increases happiness and prosperity in the house. It is believed that on the day of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi herself comes to earth and wanders from house to house. However, after the festival, a question must surely arise in the mind that what should be done with the lamps lit on this day after Diwali is over. Should it be thrown into the river or kept at home?

What to do with the lamps lit during Diwali?
After Diwali is over, do not throw it in the river or throw it in the garbage the next day. Keep it safe at home till Govardhan Puja, because lamps are also lit during Govardhan Puja. After completion of Govardhan Puja, it should be flown in a river. Because the lamp is made of clay and floating the clay objects in the river gives positive results.
