Jaisalmer News Desk: There is water crisis in Rasla area of Devikot area of Jaisalmer district. Drinking water is not being supplied in GLR located at three places in Rasla area, Berisal Singh ki Dhani, Khudabaksh ki Dhani and Pirane Khan ki Dhani for the last 2 years. Due to which people are facing drinking water crisis. Due to lack of drinking water, the condition of villagers and cattle is becoming miserable. The GLR built in Dhani has been lying dry for 2 years and there is no water even in the cattle shed due to which the cattle are wandering here and there. People are being forced to order water tankers at expensive prices.
Villager Rashid Khan said – The water supply system in GLR has deteriorated for the last 2 years. Due to irregular and inadequate water supply system, GLR is lying dry here. Due to which the villagers have to order water tankers for Rs 1500. The officials of the water supply department are also not giving satisfactory answers. Villagers are being forced to water the cattle sheds at their own level. Despite this, no action is being taken by those responsible to streamline the water supply system.
Villagers warned of violent agitation
The villagers of Dhanis of Rasla area have appealed to the administration and water supply department to find a solution to the water problem soon. The villagers say that if the system is not improved soon, they will launch a violent protest.
