Jaipur : Indradev is completely kind in Rajasthan. Rain has been continuing since late night in many districts including the capital Jaipur. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in 5 districts of the state today. At the same time, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in six districts. Due to the possibility of heavy rain, school holiday has been declared in two districts today. Talking about the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in Raipur of Jhalawar district.
The weather suddenly changed in the capital Jaipur after 12 o’clock on Sunday night. Heavy rain occurred in some areas. The rain continued for about 30 minutes with strong winds. After this, drizzling rain started in Jaipur till morning. Apart from this, it has been raining in many districts of the state since morning and the drizzling rain has brought coolness in the air.
Schools closed in two districts
Due to the warning of heavy rain, there is a holiday in schools in Barmer and Jaisalmer today. The weather department has warned of very heavy rain in both the districts today. In view of the orange alert in Barmer, on the instructions of the district collector, the education department has declared a holiday on August 5 for students from class 1 to 12 in government and non-government schools and in Anganwadis. District Education Officer Krishna Singh Ranigaon said that due to the alert of very heavy rain, there will be a holiday for children in all schools. At the same time, due to the warning of heavy rain in Jaisalmer, a holiday has been declared in schools on Monday. Chief District Education Officer Naina Ram Jani issued its orders.
Rain alert in these districts today
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Pali, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer today. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in Sirohi, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Jalore and Ajmer.
Kota-Sheopur highway closed for three days
Due to good rains in Chambal’s catchment area and Madhya Pradesh, water is continuously flowing in Parvati and Chambal rivers located in Khatauli in Kota district. About five feet of water is flowing on the bridge of Parvati river. Due to this, State Highway 70 Kota-Sheopur Highway is blocked for the last three days. Rajasthan’s road connectivity with Madhya Pradesh is cut off from this end.
Kalisindh river is in spate due to heavy rains
The Kalisindh river is in spate due to heavy rains in Gangdhar region of Jhalawar district. The culvert on Chaumhala-Rawatpura road is filled with 6 feet of water, due to which the Chaumhala to Rawatpura, Sankariya, Suwasra road is closed. The Gangdhar to Dhabla, Barod road is closed due to water on the culvert of Chachurni river as well. The Kadodia-Raipur road in Sunel area was blocked for almost two hours. Water is being drained out by opening five gates of Kalisindh dam to release 55 thousand 604 cusecs and by opening one gate of Chhapi dam also.
