Due to controversy over Jaljhulani Ekadashi, markets opened in Jahazpur after 7 days, know what was the matter

Bhilwara : Amidst the tension that has been going on for the last two months in Jahazpur city of Shahpura district, the path of reconciliation opened on Wednesday. After a late night agreement between the officials of Hindu organizations and the administration, the markets of Jahazpur city, which were closed for 7 days, opened on Wednesday morning. The controversy started here two months ago on September 14 after stone pelting from a disputed religious place during Jal Jhulan Mahotsav. Since then, one party has been continuously agitating for its 14-point demands. Following the agreement reached last night, the agitating people have postponed the indefinite strike. Due to the markets in the city remaining closed for 7 days, public life was being badly affected. State level officials of Vishwa Hindu Parishad had reached Jahazpur on Tuesday evening. Late in the night, MLA Gopichand Meena also came to Jahazpur to talk to the administration. Talks continued till late night between the administration and the agitating people. In the end, assurance was given between the administration and the villagers to start work on eight out of 14 demands.

Consensus reached on 8 out of 14 demands

The administration started working on 8 demands from Wednesday morning itself. Under which the main demand is to identify illegal encroachment and renovation of the temple of Lord Pitambar Rai. On Wednesday morning, for the seventh day, the vegetable market and the bus stand were somewhat lively with the opening of the market. On the other hand, MLA Gopichand Meena says that the administration has started work against illegal encroachment in Nagdi river, which has calmed down the anger among the common people.

Administration’s efforts so far

The administration has so far arrested 22 people in connection with the movement that has been going on for almost two months. Eight accused are yet to be arrested in the case. On the demand of villagers, around 2 dozen temporary encroachments have been demolished so far. Half a dozen illegal encroachments have been identified since Tuesday evening.

Now what next?

In Jahazpur, an agreement was reached in talks between Shri Pitambar Rai Bhagwan Nyay Sangharsh Samiti, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal administration. The administration sought time from the agitating delegation till 25th November. On the other hand, the agitating delegation has given an ultimatum of November 28 to work on the remaining demands.
