Kota : After the alert of heavy to very heavy rains in Kota division, the district administration has also gone on high alert. District Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami on Friday visited the flood control rooms located in Municipal Corporation North, South and Tagore Hall and inquired from the present employees about the information of heavy rains and water logging as well as the quick response given by the control room. Gave instructions to make full preparations to deal with excessive rain and water logging. The District Collector cancelled the previously approved leave of district, subdivision and tehsil level officers with immediate effect and instructed them not to leave the headquarters without permission till further orders. An advisory has been issued for the people not to go to the river, pond and flood prone area.
Employees on night duty at control room should remain alert
The District Collector reviewed the arrangements for rescue and relief operations in the event of heavy rain and waterlogging in the New Auditorium of the Collectorate on Friday. Along with marking the sensitive places, he instructed to keep the rescue teams ready, the staff posted at the flood control room to be extra vigilant in case of heavy rain at night, make all preparations for the rehabilitation of displaced people and follow all the protocols related to disaster management. The staff on night duty at the control room has been asked to remain alert.
Know the reality of the control room
The collector asked the duty officer present at the control room established in Nagar Nigam North that what will be the response if any information about any rain-related accident is received at 2 o’clock in the night? The control room duty officer told that a team will be sent immediately after informing the higher officials. The collector asked that how will it be managed if information about an accident is received at two places simultaneously? The duty officer told that two separate teams will be formed and sent. The control room employees told that constant contact is also maintained with the district flood control room, police control room and the control room established by the water resources department.

Chief Fire Officer Rakesh Vyas said that the Municipal Corporation North and South currently have 6 boats, 50 life jackets, 30 divers, JCB, dumper etc. available. Also, flood lights, ropes and other equipment are also available. The SDRF team also has 6 boats, which can be used in relief and rescue operations. Apart from this, Civil Defense teams are also kept on alert by the District Flood Control Room. The DM gave instructions to other departments including the Municipal Corporation to form a team of 100 people for relief and rescue operations.

Put up warning boards at picnic spots
He instructed to keep adequate surveillance on all dams, ponds and other water bodies. He instructed to keep arrangements of sand bags, boats, divers, ropes, torches etc. on dams and ponds and to keep constant vigil on the water logging situation in downstream settlements.
Police force will be deployed
The District Collector said that warning boards should be installed at Gaiparnath, Bhavarkunj, Karneshwar Mahadev, Chattaneshwar Mahadev, Kota Barrage and other major picnic spots and adequate security arrangements should be made to prevent crowds. The Municipal Corporation officials were instructed to remove the obstructions and encroachments coming in the way of the drains and to do adequate cleaning. The Collector said that a police contingent should be deployed on the downstream of Kota Barrage so that no one goes there.
