Bharatpur : Due to heavy rains in many parts of Rajasthan, there has been a heavy inflow of water in rivers and ponds, due to which they have now started overflowing. In Jaipur too, on Thursday morning, the water of the Dravyavati river started flowing over the culvert, due to which people started facing problems in commuting. A similar situation arose in Karauli, after which 3 gates of Panchna Bandh Karauli were opened. About 3 thousand cusecs of water started draining at a speed of per second. This drainage will continue till it reaches 257 meters.
Water will reach Bharatpur from Gambhir river
The water resources officer has appealed to the people living downstream that those who live on the banks of the water or go there to graze their cattle, should be cautious and stay away from the flow of water. This water will reach Bharatpur via the Gambhir river. Water Resources Department Executive Engineer Sushil Kumar Gupta said that after seeing the status of water inflow in the dam, the gates will be closed after it is fixed at 257.5 meters. People started arriving here since morning to see the water in the dams and ponds. A large number of women, men and children reached Panchana Dam, Bhadravati River and Rangamaan Pond. Although police force was deployed on the dams, the policemen had to work hard due to the large crowd.
Water filled in houses and shops, traffic affected
Due to the torrential rains that continued since last night, traffic was blocked on many major routes connecting the Karauli city wall to the outer city due to waterlogging. During this time, water entered the houses and shops in many colonies, due to which the residents of the area had to face problems. Due to waterlogging, many colonies including Ramdwara Collectorate Road, Holi Khidkiyaon Baar Radheshyam Farm House area and Baggi Khana got flooded, due to which traffic on the road was stopped. After waterlogging, some people took out the water that entered the houses in the Baggi Khana area by installing a motor. However, people have got relief from the humid heat in the area and the weather has become pleasant.
