Kota : Chowpatty developed by Housing Board in Kota Landmark City on the lines of Jaipur is on the verge of closure. The Housing Board had developed a state-of-the-art Chowpatty in Kunhadi Landmark area at a cost of Rs 5 crore 80 lakh. Where the city residents can enjoy delicious dishes, but this time due to less number of students coming for coaching, this Chowpatty looks deserted. Out of 21 establishments in Chowpatty market, only two shops are now running. One of the shop owners keeps it closed most of the time.
No shops, still Rs 10 fee
Even though the shops have been closed, the Housing Board has still imposed a fee of Rs 10 to enter Chowpatty. Only one shop is operational. The Housing Board has employed two ticket counters, six guards, one supervisor and four sweepers.
What should traders do if people do not come now?
Shopkeeper Praveen Sharma said that this Chowpatty has been most affected due to less students. Earlier there was movement of students throughout the day. This time due to less number of students, the movement of people in Chowpatty stopped completely.
