There was leakage in the pipeline supplying fluoride free pure drinking water from Jaisamand to dozens of villages including Kejar, Sarada in the district. Due to which hundreds of liters of water started flowing on the road unnecessarily. At the same time, there is anger among the villagers due to the state highway becoming an accident zone. Villagers said that after connecting the Vezpur pipeline in Meghwal intersection, Jhadol village, hundreds of liters of water kept flowing on the roads from Tuesday to Wednesday morning. Due to the water pressure not matching in the pipeline, 75 percent of the water in the pipeline could not reach beyond Jhadol to other villages. After the incomplete work of matching the pipeline, the contractor’s personnel left the incomplete pit. Due to which the State Highway main road located at Meghwal intersection became an accident zone. Where the bike rider was seen slipping and falling into an accident. Two days ago, pipeline leakage occurred at the same place in Meghwal intersection and pipeline leakage occurred in Kezad village. Due to which hundreds of liters of water was wasted there too.
It is noteworthy that the pipeline work is going on by the contractor in the absence of the responsible technical officer of the water supply department, but due to technical flaws while matching the old pipeline, water kept flowing due to leakage, but the responsible officer kept knowing the situation while sitting in the office. .
District Collector took cognizance
The villagers informed Collector Jasmeet Singh Sandhu about hundreds of liters of water flowing wastefully on the road and the competent officer of the department not reaching the spot and the accident zone on the state highway. After which Collector Sandhu took cognizance of the matter and sent Sarada Tehsildar and later Revenue Inspector and Patwari to the spot. After the rebuke from the Collector, the assistant engineer and the technical team reached the spot and remained busy in the work till late evening. Villagers say that the competent officers of the water supply department can stand at the spot and get the work done with quality by the contractor’s personnel, but due to their negligence, problems are occurring. Three days ago, it took two and a half days to complete a work of 3 hours due to the valve rod being damaged in Jhadol village. After that water supply was possible on the third day.
