Due to shortage of teachers, villagers locked the government school of Bhilwara, education officer’s statement added fuel to the matter.

Bhilwara : Government is giving promises and instructions to improve education in Rajasthan. But on the ground the truth looks different. After which it is said that the future of the children is in danger. There is a shortage of staff in the government schools of Rajasthan and due to this there is resentment among the local people. Now movements are also starting against this. School enrollment is decreasing due to lack of teachers in rural areas. A case has come to light in Bhilwara in which the villagers locked the school gate. In Dholi village of Motipura Gram Panchayat of Asind Panchayat Samiti of Bhilwara, due to vacant posts of teachers, the villagers created a jam in the village. In fact, the school gate was also locked. After receiving the information, Asind police station reached the spot but the villagers did not agree and the school children also came out of the gate and started protesting. The villagers are unhappy that there is not a single teacher for Mathematics, English and Science subjects in the school.

Teacher shortage in entire Rajasthan

People reached the spot on the information of Asind police station. Education Officer Vijay Kumar said that after taking cognizance of the incident of lockout in the government school, we have made alternative arrangements and are appointing staff in the school. We have appointed a teacher for 21 days, whom we will regularize later. At the same time, we have employed three additional teachers from nearby schools for four periods. Public Education Officer Vyas also said that what should be done, there is a shortage of staff in the whole of Rajasthan… but we all will have to find a solution together.

Why was the school locked?

The villagers have already raised their voice twice before to the education department officials regarding the shortage of staff in Dhauli School. But there was no solution. CBO came to Asind twice and was informed. But the teacher has been appointed and that too for a month. There are still 7 to 8 teacher posts vacant in the school. On receiving the information, education department officials came and talked to the angry villagers and students. After 3 hours of struggle, the villagers calmed down after assurance of deployment of staff and the locks of the school gate were opened.
