Although the stock of gypsum has not been available to the Agriculture Department till now, most of the work of sowing Rabi crops has also been completed. Nevertheless, farmers will definitely benefit from its distribution in the coming days. Keeping in view the demand of farmers, demand has also been sent by the Agriculture Department. Farmers will have to apply online for free gypsum. Alkaline means that soil which has more sodium and is also full of water. The soil is hard and the circulation of air and water has stopped. Such soil can be made fertile by adding gypsum. To remove alkalinity, the soil of the concerned field should also be tested in the department’s laboratory, so that it can be known how much quantity of gypsum should be added to the field. Farmers will have to apply online on Raj Kisan Sathi Suvidha App. A maximum of 1.5 metric tons of gypsum will be given to a farmer. Gypsum will also be distributed to the beneficiaries through the app. Its verification will be done through the OTP number coming on the mobile of the concerned farmer. After achieving the target of free distribution of gypsum, it will also be made available to the farmers at 50 percent subsidy.
