Dungarpur BAP’s dominance continues, concerns are immense due to decrease in vote share.

Dungarpur : Bharat Adivasi Party has once again increased the problems of BJP-Congress by registering victory in the Chaurasi Assembly by-election of the district. BAP candidate Anil Katara has won by 24 thousand 370 votes. He received 89161 votes. Rival BJP’s Karilal obtained 64 thousand 791 votes. At the third place, Mahesh of Congress was crying. Who got only 15915 votes and his security deposit was confiscated. The public has crowned the BAP candidate with victory, but the decrease in voter share to 7.03 percent within a year of the 2023 assembly elections has increased the concerns internally. Here, even though BJP had to face defeat in this election, the increase in vote share by 13.71 percent is being seen as a good sign for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections. At the same time, due to decrease in vote share of Congress by 5.27 percent, questions are being raised about the survival of the party in the region. , It is noteworthy that this time the voting in the by-election was 74.34 percent. Which was 7.42 percent less in the assembly constituency compared to the year 2023 elections.

So far, the eighty-four assembly seats that came into existence in 1967 have been won by Congress six times, BJP three times, BTP once each, Swatantra and Janata Dal and BAP twice. Congress has won this seat for the last time in 2008 and BJP in 2013. The dominance of the regional parties in the last two elections remained intact in the by-elections. After losing in two elections, BJP had tried its best this time, but did not get success. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and BJP State President Madan Rathod made three visits and TAD Minister Babulal Kharadi continuously contacted the voters, but the results were not in favor.
