Angry people reached the Gram Panchayat and demanded that the work be started. Even after a lot of efforts, when people could not find a solution, they expressed their anger by locking out the Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra.

Administrative and financial approval for various works in Manpura under MNREGA has been issued by the District Collector and District Program Coordinator (Mahatma Gandhi NREGA), Dungarpur on 7 October 2023. In which the construction work of CC road and drain is from Main Road to Heera’s house in Manpura and CC road construction work is from Bayan Mata to Dilip Singh’s house till Pushparaj Panwar’s house. The people of Manpura expressed anger over this work not being completed. It is said that ward member Surendra Singh Chauhan and the villagers appealed several times to start the approved work, but the Panchayat did not even pay attention. Many times the issue was avoided by citing issues like code of conduct and sometimes by citing other problems including non-appointment of Veedis. On this, people’s patience ran out and the angry people called the people present including Sarpanch Jackie Meena, Village Development Officer Narendra Singh Chundawat out of the building and locked the channel gate of the Gram Panchayat building.
Villagers agree to written agreement
Before the lockdown, Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Meena and Village Development Officer Chundawat called the owner of the concerned firm supplying the material and talked about supplying the material, so that the work could be started immediately by the Gram Panchayat. On this, it was said that the concerned firm will start supplying the material from December 10, 2024.
On this, the Gram Panchayat talked about supplying the material immediately. Ultimately the supply of material was fixed for 5th December 2024. After this was decided, Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Meena and Video Chundawat talked to Ward Member Chauhan and the angry villagers. They talked about starting the work on the approved CC road as soon as the material was supplied. Even on this the villagers did not agree and locked the building. Later the villagers agreed to a written agreement. On this occasion, Gautam Meena, Kanti, Jagji, Shankar Jeeva Meena, Vasudev, Deva, Nanji, Shankar Nagji Meena, Kalu, Ganesh, Laxman, Valji, Dungar, Rupa, Nanji, Soma, Varsha, Sangeeta, Haaker, Surta, Durga, Lakshmi, Meenakshi, Kamala, Rupali, Durga, Chetna, Roop, Deepika, Moti, Kachari, Aarti, Galal, Nani, Champa, Tulsi etc. were present.
