Dungarpur : Dungarpur The games of Tribal Regional Development Department are unique. The state level sports competition with a budget of lakhs of rupees is being held at the district headquarters for two days. But, all the events are being conducted secretly. The situation is such that under the guise of the code of conduct, the department has ignored the accounting rules and has also kept aside the formalities of tenders for various works related to sports events. The matter is related to the fourth state level Eklavya Model Residential School Sports Competition for 14/19 year old students. Dungarpur district has got the hosting of the competition under the direction of Tribal Regional Development Department and this competition will be held from 16th to 18th November at Laxman Maidan at the District Headquarters and Sports are taking place in the complex.
Players, teachers, trainers from different districts of the state and physical teachers from across the district are participating in the competition. But, the TAD department is planning to settle the entire competition secretly. The situation is such that the department did not even tender on time as per the set standards for arranging various works related to the event like tents, food, water, beds at accommodation etc. and the firms to which contracts were being given in the by-elections being held in the district in 2024. Contracts have been given to them only. Whereas, according to the rules, both the works were separate, hence the tenders should also have been in accordance with the departmental provisions.
