Dungarpur : Dungarpur Patanpura village of Sabala Panchayat Samiti is yearning for other facilities including education, roads and irrigation water. In Patanpura village, 30 km from the subdivision headquarters and adjacent to the Pratapgarh border, neither the district administration tried to take care by organizing a night chaupal nor did the local administration advocate in this regard. The anger among the villagers is so much that now they have also started saying that the leaders come in the elections only to get votes, after that they are not even seen. The villagers of Patanpura village see the beautiful sight of flowing streams of Mahi river every day, but due to non-availability of water for irrigation, they remain disappointed. Villagers and farmers said that for a long time, the department had constructed tanks under the Janata Jal Yojana regarding drinking water, but drinking water was not supplied. At the same time, litter was also installed in Mahi river for irrigation, but that too is lying unused. In such a situation, farmers are making arrangements for drinking water and irrigation by digging borewells at their own level.
Even basic facilities are not available
Villagers said that even after 75 years of independence, there is still lack of basic facilities in the village. Dantli Kheda, Sati Kheda and Chundel Kheda and other localities of the village have a population of 50 to 60 houses. But to connect these localities, there is neither CC nor asphalting on the road. In such a situation, the passers-by along with the villagers have to face problems in transportation. Also, there is no transport system for transportation to the district headquarters. Vehicles have to be changed to complete the work at the district headquarters. In such a situation, the villagers appealed to the district administration and demanded that a roadways bus should be connected to Patnapura so that after reaching the district headquarters in the morning, a halt could be made from Nithauwa to Patnapura in the evening. Here, in the matter, the Sarpanch said that the Panchayat is working for the development at its level. Work is being done, but if a big anicut is constructed in Mahi river, the problem of irrigation and drinking water can be solved to a great extent.
