Prayagraj, 15 November (IANS). The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is providing better facilities and environment to the tourists in the state by taking the traditional Indian values and the concept of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. Prayagraj Mahakumbh is providing a big platform for this. The process of civilizing the e-rickshaw drivers of Prayagraj city started from Friday is a part of this. The tourism department was given the responsibility for this.
When devotees and tourists coming to Mahakumbh reach Prayagraj, the first thing they meet is taxi drivers or e-rickshaw drivers. The behavior of these drivers, their communication with the visitors and their mannerisms will also decide the image of Kumbhanagari. In such a situation, considering the need for training of their soft skills, training of e-rickshaw drivers has also been started by the Tourism Department.
Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh says that a campaign to train one thousand e-rickshaw drivers has started. Hundred e-rickshaw drivers have been trained on the first day. The objective of this campaign is to improve the skill development of rickshaw pullers and their behavior towards visitors. These rickshaw pullers are being trained under the leadership of Honorable Kanshi Ram Tourism Management Institute, Lucknow. For which its SOP has been made. According to the Kumbh Mela administration, these rickshaws will be run inside and outside the Kumbh area, for which color coding will also be done.
This training has been started by Honorable Kanshi Ram Institute of Tourism Management at Hotel Rahi Ilawart of the city. Prakhar Tiwari, Assistant Professor of Kanshi Ram Tourism Management Institute, says that they are being trained to sensitize them about the behavior of tourists and to give them information about tourist places and routes along with cleanliness. These rickshaw pullers are also being given training on the stories of Mahakumbh and the importance of Prayag, so that they can take the devotees and tourists coming to Mahakumbh to their destination and also give information about the tourist places of Prayagraj in an interesting manner. In this sequence, they have also been given training on traffic rules, cleanliness, good behavior and digital payments.
Before giving training to these e-rickshaw drivers, a form has also been filled by the Tourism Department for their basic information. Raghunath Dwivedi, Vice President of Prayagraj E-Rickshaw Association, says that this form has been given to the e-rickshaw drivers, in which only after following the mentioned conditions, they will get the training certificate and the QR code of the rickshaw, which they can print in their rickshaw. Will be able to use it for identification. Only those rickshaw pullers whose rickshaws are not made in China will be able to do this training.
Mohammad Israr Khan, who came to take training, says that through this training he has got information related to the importance of Kumbh and Kumbh. The opportunity we have got to welcome guests is also special for us.
Rickshaw puller Rajesh Sharma says that Kumbh Mela is the identity of our city. We will also benefit from the training we have been given to present the best image of our city to the tourists coming here. Along with cleanliness, we will also take full care of cleanliness. We will welcome the devotees and tourists by saying ‘Welcome Sir’ as soon as they come near our rickshaw.
