Indore, November 29 (IANS). The five-day 41st Plenary Meeting of the Eurasian Asian Group (EAG) concluded on Friday in the commercial city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chikhanchyn said that India’s mutual assessment report conducted jointly with FATF was reviewed and approved.
It was decided in the meeting that India is at a high level of technical compliance with FATF requirements. Its AML, CFT, CPF regime is achieving excellent results, including measures such as understanding money laundering and terror funding risks, international cooperation, access to basic and beneficial ownership information, use of financial intelligence and depriving criminals of their assets. Are included.
All EAG members congratulated India for being placed in the regular follow-up category, which is the best possible outcome in mutual assessment. In addition, a progress report on Tajikistan was also reviewed and approved.
Chikhanchyn said the meeting, held in Indore, India, was attended by all EAG member states, the FATF Secretariat, representatives of FATF-style regional bodies to combat money laundering and terror funding, as well as Armenia, Iran, USA, Japan, CIS ATC, EDB, EEC, CIS Executive Committee, IMF, New Development Bank (NDB), CHFIU, SCO, Azerbaijan, Observers and invited delegations from Nepal, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka participated.
He informed that the 42nd EAG Plenary Meeting will be held in Moscow on 26-30 May 2025.
