Mumbai, 30 November (IANS). Maharashtra Congress Legislative Council member Bhai Jagtap had a special conversation with IANS on Saturday. During this, he expressed his reaction on many issues. After brainstorming on the reasons for Congress’s defeat in Maharashtra, he supported the steps taken to strengthen the organization. Along with this, he also made serious allegations against the Election Commission and BJP leaders. He also commented on Maharashtra politics, the confusion on the Chief Minister’s face and politics in sports.
Talking about the atmosphere after the defeat of Congress, Bhai Jagtap said that in the meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the party, it was considered to strengthen the organization afresh. He said that it is absolutely right that brainstorming is taking place to further strengthen the organization. There have been many ups and downs in the journey of the Congress Party, but the Congress workers were never afraid of defeat. Learning from the defeat, work is being done to strengthen the party.
Bhai Jagtap also raised questions on the Election Commission and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). He said that the Election Commission should work to strengthen democracy and not to create apprehension in anyone’s heart. I think this issue is about the questions raised after the election results, and the Election Commission should take immediate action on it.
He claimed that BJP leader Ram Shinde himself had demanded recount by paying the money and also said that the Election Commission should ensure that the data of EVM machines is not erased. If the Supreme Court has ordered that five percent of EVMs be recounted, the Election Commission should take note of it and remove all doubts.
When asked about the future of Mahavikas Aghadi and the confusion on the face of the Chief Minister, he said that our workers are saying that Mahavikas Aghadi should fight the elections unitedly. If we understand the politics going on in Maharashtra, then Mahavikas Aghadi will have to face it together.
Bhai Jagtap further said that Mahavikas Aghadi will have to fight unitedly to counter the kind of conspiracies and incidents taking place in Maharashtra. On the questions being raised regarding the face of the Chief Minister, he said that the lack of coordination within the party is clearly visible. The results came on 23rd, but till now the face of the Chief Minister could not be decided. This political dilemma is not good for the state. There should be no interference of politics in cricket and sports. The game should be viewed in the spirit of the game and not from the perspective of politics. He also said that the Cricket Board (BCCI) should take decisions keeping in mind the security reasons, but there should be no place for politics in the game.
