Jaipur : Once again electricity consumers in Rajasthan are going to get a shock of expensive electricity. The Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the increase in fixed charge, which has been increased by more than ten percent. Due to this, consumers will have to spend more money to pay the new electricity bill. This means that the fixed charge which was Rs 230 earlier, will now have to be paid Rs 250.

The Commission has issued a new tariff for the year 2024-25. The Commission has fixed new tariffs on the petition of power companies. The Commission has not increased energy charges in any category except BPL-small consumers in the tariff plan fixed for the year 2024-25, but the previously fixed fixed charge has been increased by more than 10 percent. According to the new tariff plan of the Electricity Regulatory Commission, a normal electricity consumer consuming up to 150 units will now have to pay Rs 250 as fixed charge every month, whereas earlier Rs 230 had to be paid as fixed charge every month.
At the same time, electricity consumers consuming 150 to 300 units will have to pay Rs 300 as fixed charge every month. Earlier the fixed charge for this was Rs 275. Along with this, there will be rebate and extra charge for industries on electricity usage according to leave hour and peak hour. If electricity is used at small and medium industries charging stations from 6 am to 8 am and from 6 pm to 10 pm, then 5 percent extra charge will be levied, but if charging stations and medium and large industries use electricity from 12 noon to 4 pm, then a rebate of 10 percent will also be available.
