Electricity supply started in Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar RRTS stations.

New Delhi, November 13 (IANS). A trial run of Namo Bharat trains is being conducted from Sahibabad onwards towards Delhi on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. Also, Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations are being prepared for operation. To supply power to these stations, the auxiliary sub-stations (ASS) installed in the stations have been charged at a capacity of 33 KV. Due to which power supply for the power system, AFC system and other technical functions of the station is ensured.

For power supply to these stations, at present, 33 KV capacity cable from Ghaziabad Receiving Sub Station (RSS) has been extended to Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations through viaduct and tunnel, after its successful energization, power will be supplied to these stations. Electricity is being supplied.

The supply of power from Ghaziabad RSS to Delhi section is a temporary provision. In the coming time, power supply to Delhi section will be done from Sarai Kale Khan Receiving Sub Station (RSS), whose construction work is in the final stage. Power supply in Sarai Kale Khan RSS will be from the grid of Delhi Transco Limited and from the Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS) located at IP State. ASS room has also been completed at Sarai Kale Khan station, the largest of Delhi section, and it will also be charged soon.

Power supply at stations is done through RSS and ASS. RSS receives electricity from distribution companies and sends it to the ASS built at the station, thereby ensuring power supply at the station. RSS supplies auxiliary power to traction and stations for running trains.

5 Receiving Sub Stations (RSS) are being constructed on the RRTS corridor between Delhi to Meerut, out of which Ghaziabad, Muradnagar and Shatabdi Nagar (Meerut) RSSs are ready, while Sarai Kale Khan RSS will also get electricity soon. Supply will be started. Additionally, the fifth RSS is under construction at Modipuram (Meerut).

NCRTC has tied up with power transmission corporations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh for power supply on the RRTS corridor. From these grid substations, power at 220 KV voltage is coming to NCRTC’s receiving substations located at Ghaziabad, Muradnagar and Shatabdi Nagar, from here 25 KV power is supplied to operate trains and 33 KV power is supplied to the stations through ASS of RRTS stations. Being used for all other needs.

ASS is being constructed for power supply to all the stations of RRTS and Meerut Metro on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, to which power will be supplied from designated nearby Receiving Sub Stations (RSS).

The trial run in the Delhi section, from New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad, is going on uninterrupted. After the commencement of operation of this section, the operational section of the corridor will extend to 54 km. This section will connect important stations like Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar, thereby significantly increasing the number of transit options for commuters in the National Capital Region (NCR). This expansion will ensure greater convenience, streamlined connectivity and better accessibility for passengers in the NCR. Currently, a 42 km corridor is operational with 9 stations, including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South.
