Jaipur : Elephant ride will get expensive from October 1 in Amer Palace. Tourists will have to pay Rs 2,500 for an elephant ride. Presently elephant ride is being provided for Rs 1,100. The Archaeology and Museum Department has issued orders to increase the elephant ride fee. For the past several years the fee for elephant ride was fixed at Rs 1,100. The department has increased the ride fee on the demand of elephant owners. Tourists will now have to pay Rs 2,500 for one round of elephant ride. In this, the elephant owner will get Rs 2,100 after deducting Rs 400 for travel agent, elephant entry fee, elephant site cleaning fee and elephant welfare fund.
Elephant rides are banned at other places
According to the order issued by the Archaeological Department, if elephant rides are arranged from the elephant stand in Amer Palace to any place other than Jaleb Chowk and Hathi Village, then the elephant owner will be banned from taking elephant rides to these places.
New rates will be applicable from October 1
The fee for elephant ride in Jaipur’s Amer Palace has been increased to Rs 2,500 from October 1. These rates will be reviewed after 5 years. These rates will remain effective for 5 years.
