Raipur : A deadly encounter between security forces and Naxalites in the dense forests of Abujhmad has entered its second day. The incident began on Thursday morning and has seen intense gunfire from both sides.
Today, while returning to their headquarters, the police party was ambushed by Naxalites. Security forces retaliated swiftly, killing one more Naxalite. This brings the confirmed death toll of Naxalites to eight in this ongoing encounter.
A search operation by the security forces recovered the body of a uniformed Naxalite along with weapons. The encounter is concentrated in the border region of Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Bijapur districts – a known Naxalite stronghold. Reports suggest Naxalites are using the dense forest cover to escape.
Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar and Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai confirmed the encounter and ongoing search operation. The number of injured Naxalites remains unclear.
This encounter marks a significant development in the fight against Naxalism. Security forces are determined to neutralize the Naxalite threat and ensure peace in the region.
