Sikar : The work of Nawalgarh Pulia Four Lane Project is going to start soon in Sikar. The action to remove encroachment has been started from this morning. Here, some shopkeepers and local people have sat on strike outside the Collectorate in protest.
Woman Vimla Dhaka says- Her entire family had gone to the wedding. During this time, the administration demolished their house without informing them and took away their belongings and threw them out. When we reached our house after receiving information about the demolition, the administration did not allow them to enter inside. Their belongings are scattered on the road.
Gautam Singh told- His house is near the culvert. The administration has demolished our leased house. If someone has a leasehold house does he become a trespasser? Is the lease not a legal document? The city council had given him a lease of the house and given construction approval. After this he took a loan from the bank and built a house. Now the administration is saying that this house is in the market area.
He said- The administration destroyed our house and we did not even get compensation. People have been living here since 1960. How did everyone become encroachers? If this was encroached land then why did PWD give the land at all and why did it come now after 65 years. The protesting people demand that they be compensated.
