Jaipur : Jaipur For ‘Manak Alankaran-2024’, the journalists, public relations personnel, photographers/cartoonists, talents related to electronic media who have served Rajasthan by doing excellent journalism through investigative, factual, creative news and special reports. The investiture will be awarded at the felicitation ceremony. Entries are cordially invited for this. Late announced the names of the journalists to be honored with ‘Manak Alankaran-2024’ and the talents selected for the special award. The seminar will be organized on 12th December, the 49th death anniversary of Manak Mehta, as per the decision of the selection committee. For Manak Alankaran 2024 and special awards, mention of news, reports, photographs/cartoons etc. published in the period from December 2023 to November 2024, cuttings/photocopies of the concerned newspaper-magazine and CD of electronic media coverage are required to be sent.
Apart from this, a special award (Rajasthani writing women litterateur) is also given, for which entries are also invited. Late, the founder of Dainik Jaltedeep, with the aim of encouraging the journalists of Rajasthan for investigative and excellent journalism. In the memory of Manak Mehta, every year a meritorious journalist is awarded the ‘Manak Alankaran’. Under this award, the selected journalist is honored with a prize money of Rs 21 thousand, quince, shawl and citation.
So far, 42 journalists of the state have been honored with ‘Manak Alankaran’, established in 1981. In this context, in the year 1996, a special award (Public Relations Personnel) was established with the aim of encouraging the journalism skills of public relations personnel of government services. Since 2002, separate special awards are being given to cinematographers/cartoonists, since 2013, journalists associated with electronic media and since 2019, women litterateurs associated with Rajasthani writing are also being honored with special awards. Rs 7100 under each special award. Prize money, trinket, shawl and citation is given. The name of the selected journalist is announced every year on 12 December and these honors are given every year on the foundation day of Dainik Jaltedeep, 2 October or any changed date.
