Ranchi, December 1 (IANS). Jharkhand state BJP in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Laxmikant Vajpayee, while addressing a press conference after the party’s review meeting on Sunday, said that we may have lost the assembly elections, but the number of votes received by our party has increased. We are at the forefront in the state in vote percentage. This proves that the acceptance of BJP among the public has increased.
He said that the conclusions reached in the meetings held for two days to review the election results will prove to be a milestone in the future for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Learning from the defeat, the party has resolved to build a strong organization. Like Angad, we will work with a firm footing to discharge our responsibilities in social life.
He said that membership campaign is starting in the state. MP Pundeshwari has been appointed to oversee the membership drive. The new state president will be elected by February. As per the mandate, our party will play the role of positive opposition in the state. If the government does good work then it is fine. BJP will not hesitate to take to the streets if anti-people work is done.
BJP state working president Ravindra Rai said the party held meetings in five sessions over two days. During this, a detailed discussion was held from the conduct of elections to its management and results. Elections are an important aspect in politics. Its result may be seen on the scale of success or failure. But, BJP takes it a little deeper in the form of what responsibility the society has given us and to what extent it has accepted us.
He said that there has been no decline in the credibility of Bharatiya Janata Party among the people of Jharkhand. The party has got 9 lakh more votes than before. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and RJD tried to incite caste and communal hatred against the Bharatiya Janata Party. This led to polarization and we lagged behind in arithmetic. Irrespective of this result, it will continue to work in the interest of the people of Jharkhand. It will play the role of opposition and will inspect the government’s actions very seriously.
He said that there was no let up in the operation, management and public relations campaign of the candidates during the elections. There was some lack of taking the issues to the public, due to which the opponents were successful.
