Every day 25 injured people come to Ajmer JLN Hospital to get rabies vaccine.

Ajmer : Ajmer Herds of dogs are increasing in the premises of JLN Hospital. They reach the wards also. The patients and their families are worried about them. This situation is when the management knows that the cases of dog bites in the city will increase further with winter. The management has now set up a separate counter in the MOT so that patients do not have to worry about getting the vaccine. Every day 22 to 25 patients with dog bite injuries are coming to JLN.

Cases increase from September to November: 600 vaccinated in 2022, 650 in 2023

According to the information received from the hospital, cases of dog bites have been increasing continuously in JLN for the last three years. In the year 2022, between 550 to 600 patients were coming in September, October and November. Last year in 2023, this figure reached 650 in all three months. This figure is expected to increase this year. Currently around 25 patients are coming daily. Same number of patients are coming for follow up. Most cases of dog bites used to occur in winter, but now eight to ten cases of cat and monkey bites are also being reported every day. Everyone is treated for rabies only. For this reason they are being kept in the same category.

Only dogs outside the corridors, parking, wards; They are seen in a group of 3-4 even outside the superintendent’s room.

Dogs can be seen roaming from JLN’s OPD to corridors, parking and outside the wards. Many times not just one but three to four dogs are seen together outside the Superintendent’s room. If a patient is injured by a dog, a dispute may arise. Due to continuous increase in dog cases, Principal Dr. Anil Samaria has made additional arrangements for rabies vaccine in MOT and also provided training so that the patient does not get troubled.
