The demand for cashews, almonds, pistachios, figs and raisins has started reaching every home along with gift packs and sweets. Purchasing of dry fruits started in the market a few days ago. Dry fruits are being sold daily in market number two, Government Door, Azadnagar area of the city. Local traders are grading cashew nuts and almonds. Git packs are being prepared on a large scale in the city.
There are many traders in the markets of dry fruits. Many grocery and small shopkeepers also keep dry fruits. Traders say that on the basis of traders associated with textile and mining sectors, it has now become a major center for dry fruits. Dry fruits are being sent from here to other states also. Due to this the prices have increased. The prices of dry fruits have also increased due to Bangladesh.
Increase from 80 to 400 rupees per kg
Businessman Ashish Garg says that during Diwali the business of dry fruits increases by one and a half times. Keeping in mind winter and festivals, there is a total dry fruits business of Rs 10 crore in Bhilwara district. Compared to last year, there has been an increase of Rs 80 to Rs 400 per kg in dry fruits. Special emphasis is being laid on this gift pack. Gift packs ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 3000 are available in the market.
