Jaipur : Jaipur: The administration of Sawai Mansingh (SMS), the largest hospital of the state, is not serious about the safety of patients. This is the reason why whenever any fire incident occurs in a hospital or medical college. Due to this, the patients and the administration have to face loss and trouble. The reason behind this is the lack of fire safety. The hospital administration is so careless that it is not able to maintain even the fire fighting cylinders installed there. The situation is such that the fire fighting cylinder installed outside the college principal’s office has also expired. This is when every year the hospital and medical college administration spends thousands and lakhs of rupees on their maintenance.
Cylinder missing from Bangar premises, fitted cylinders expired
Bangar campus has IPD for Neurology and Cardiac patients. More than 100 patients are admitted here all the time. But the situation is such that there is neither sufficient fire fighting equipment in the wards nor fire fighting cylinders to extinguish any fire. The cylinders installed in one or two wards have already expired two-three years ago. . The expiry date slip written on them has also been torn. Cylinders have also been removed from some places.
Health Ministry has issued advisory 4 times
The Union Health Ministry has sent alert notices four times this year giving instructions to update the fire fighting systems in hospitals and replace expired equipment. But these orders of the government have also been ignored. Apart from this, for the fifth time on November 18, the Ministry has issued a reminder notice.
