Ajmer : Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition and Councilor protested against stopping the construction of two rooms on the school land in Ward 30 of Ajmer. On Monday, Leader of Opposition Draupadi Koli and Ward Councilor Mohammad Wasim gave a memorandum to the District Collector. A memorandum has been submitted demanding the resumption of the ongoing construction on the school land. They have warned of hunger strike and dharna if their demands are not met.
Demand for construction of rooms
Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Draupadi Koli said that Government Higher Primary School is running in Fakirakheda of Ward No. 30. Children up to 8th class are studying in the school. School teachers and principal demanded the ward councilor to get the rooms constructed in view of rain and cold. Thikoli told that ward councilor Mohammad Wasim was getting two rooms constructed in the school from the councilor’s fund. But suddenly the forest department reached there and stopped the work by claiming that the school land belonged to the forest department. But the school land belongs to PWD.
Forest department stopped the work
The school has been operating for about 60 years. The construction was being done by the councilor in view of winter, summer and rain. But the forest department has suddenly stopped the work. A complaint has been given to the District Collector regarding this. Koli has alleged collusion. She also said that if her demands are not met within three days, she will stage a dharna at the Collectorate and go on a hunger strike.
