Mumbai, December 4 (IANS). After the selection of Devendra Fadnavis as the leader of Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, all the leaders of Mahayuti have staked claim to form the government.
Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, NCP chief Ajit Pawar have met Governor CP Radhakrishnan and staked claim to form the government in the state.
During this, many leaders including BJP’s central observers Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani were present.
Maharashtra Chief Minister-elect Devendra Fadnavis, while speaking to the media, said, “We met the Governor and submitted a letter of support to stake claim to form the government in the state. Our alliance partners Shiv Sena and NCP have requested the Governor to let me join the Mahayuti.” The Governor has accepted the request and has invited us for the oath ceremony tomorrow at 5.30 pm.”
He further said, “The swearing-in ceremony of the new government will take place tomorrow evening on December 5 at 5.30 pm in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will decide by the evening who will take oath tomorrow. Yesterday I met Eknath Shinde and requested him. Mahayuti workers wish to stay with us in this government. I have full confidence that we will fulfill the promises made to the people of Maharashtra.
While addressing the BJP Legislature Party meeting, Nirmala Sitharaman said, “I congratulate all the elected MLAs. I congratulate Devendra Fadnavis on being elected as the leader of the Legislature Party. 14 crore voters will vote in this election.” The mandate is a message for the whole of India. This was not just a normal assembly election. The citizens of the country have given a clear mandate through the Haryana elections and the unprecedented victory in Maharashtra. a big message in Is.”
As soon as BJP leaders unanimously elected Devendra Fadnavis as the leader of the legislature party, slogans of ‘Deva Bhau you go ahead’ were raised.
