Jaipur : Rajasthan’s famous storyteller Mukesh Popli will be given the Kshitij Samman-2024. Indore’s well-known Kshitij Sahitya Sanstha has announced to give this honor. This year Kshitij Sahitya Sanstha selected eight litterateurs from across the country, among whom Mukesh Popli of Bikaner has been ranked first. Born on 11 March 1959 in Bikaner, Mukesh has studied MA-Hindi, MCom and MJMC. Mukesh started writing from a very young age. His works started coming to the people from his teenage. Mukesh’s stories and poems started being broadcast on Akashvani from 1975, which is still happening. Mukesh started his journey as a bank employee.
Published books and collections
Mukesh Popli, who has been worshipping the pen since childhood, has published many of his works. Among his published books, the following books have reached the readers. Kahin Zara Sa… (Story Collection), ‘Humsafar’ (Short Story Collection) (2020) (Kalamkar Prakashan, Jaipur), ‘Pattal’ (Story Collection), ‘Shatdal’ (2023) Apart from these, a poetry collection of his is going to be published soon.
He was the editor of ‘Hindi Gyanveni’ for 7 years
Mukesh Popli has also successfully edited the in-house magazine ‘Hindi Gyanveni’ of State Bank of India, Delhi Circle for 7 years. He has served as Rajbhasha Adhikari in Administrative Office, Jaipur and Administrative Office, Delhi for fifteen years and now after retirement from bank service, he is engaged in freelance writing at his residence in Bikaner.
Mukesh said I am just an instrument
There is an atmosphere of happiness in Bikaner, the cultural capital of Rajasthan, on Mukesh receiving the Kshitij Sahitya Samman. Along with him, this award will be given to famous literary figure Muhammad Ashfaq Qadri, famous poet-storyteller Rajaram Swarnkar and Dr. Ajay Joshi. On receiving the Kshitij Sahitya Samman, Mukesh Popli says that I am just an instrument. It is God who makes the pen move and I write.
