Jhunjhunu News Desk: On Wednesday, many farmers demonstrated outside Shree Cement Company in Gothra, demanding increase in the compensation amount for Jhunjhunu lands. During this time, farmer Vidyadhar Yadav, who wanted to die, also tried to commit suicide by pouring oil on himself. But the police caught him and took him into custody. Vidyadhar’s brother Sukhdev Yadav made a wooden pyre, sat on it along with his wife Banarasi Devi and daughter and tried to commit suicide. Later the police and villagers forcibly lifted him from the pyre. This incident continued for about five hours outside the cement factory. During this period the surrounding area was transformed into a police camp.
This is how the events unfolded
Farmers started gathering in front of the gate of the cement factory from 11 am. The farmers started protesting and protesting in front of the main gate of the factory at around 12 o’clock. Former minister Rajendra Gudha reached there at 1.30 pm. Gudha tried to enter the factory along with the farmers. But due to heavy police presence he could not go inside. During this time, Gudha also had a heated argument with the police.
Wood remained lying for half an hour in the presence of police
Just behind the dharna going on in front of the gate of the cement factory, the villagers brought sticks, bundles etc. and kept them for self-immolation. This wood remained lying there for more than half an hour. The police caught Vidyadhar and took him away for attempting self-immolation but the wood remained lying there. After some time, Vidyadhar’s brother Sukhdev sat there making a pyre with the family. Police arrived after he sat on the pyre for 10 minutes. During this time, another youth of the village also sat on the pyre. Later he was removed from there. In fact, two days ago, former minister Rajendra Singh Gudha had announced to protest in favor of farmers at the factory gate. Farmer Vidyadhar Yadav had given a memorandum on Monday demanding euthanasia.
