Farmers’ dream unfulfilled due to no house being built in Churu fields

Churu News Desk: Farmers in Churu district are now feeling disappointed as their dream of building houses in Churu district is not being fulfilled because they are not getting the benefit of Sahakar Gram Awas Yojana. The main reason for this is the imposition of mandatory conditions for eligibility in the scheme without considering the ground reality, as a result of which, even after the launch of the scheme, till now only a nominal number of farmers have been able to get the benefit of the scheme. Under the scheme, the eligible farmers will get Rs. 50 A loan of lakh rupees was to be given. Also, it has been made mandatory that the land of the applying farmer should not be mortgaged with any bank or institution, whereas the reality is that most of the farmers’ land is mortgaged with some institution or bank and many farmers do not even file income tax returns. In Churu district, only a few farmers have been sanctioned funds under this scheme, while about 150 farmers in the state, including 12 in Churu district, have been able to get the benefit of the scheme. Under the scheme, loans up to Rs 50 lakh were to be given in three installments. The loan repayment period has been fixed at 15 years. There is a provision to give five percent rebate on interest to farmers who repay their loans on time. Under which the eligible farmer was to be given loan amount to build a house at only 6 percent.

Only these farmers are eligible

Only land holding farmers will be eligible to apply for Sahakar Gram Awas Yojana. The farmer should have his own cultivable land. His bank account should be linked to Aadhar card. To apply for this scheme you will have to go to your nearest bank. Farmers are also being given a long time of 15 years to repay this loan. For this, a target of more than Rs 75 crore has been given to the managing directors of central co-operative banks. For this year’s target, Rs 1 crore 8 lakh has been allocated, which is to be utilized by March 25. Last year, Rs 1 crore 12 lakh were received from which 12 people were benefited.
