Farmers have every right to express their views peacefully: Bhupendra Hooda

Chandigarh, December 5 (IANS). Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda said on Thursday regarding the farmers’ movement that the Supreme Court has made it clear that everyone has the full right to express their views in a democratic manner.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, “If someone tries to take the law into his own hands, then definitely strict action should be taken against him. But, I would like to emphasize that if someone wants to express his views in a peaceful manner If it is, then no one should have any objection to it.”

He said that in a democratic country everyone has the right to express their views.

The former Chief Minister of Haryana said, “The government should dialogue with the farmers in this matter and prepare a solution.”

He said that when there was talk about Minimum Support Price (MSP) a long time ago, a committee was formed regarding this and farmers were assured that we would soon take steps in this direction. But, till now the government has not done anything.

He said, “The demands raised by the farmers are absolutely justified.”

The Congress leader appealed to the farmers to enter the Delhi border peacefully and express their views. He said that it has been told to the farmer brothers not to come in tractor-trolley, then the farmers also agreed and said that okay, we will not come in tractor-trolley. Farmer brothers are also fully ready to cooperate.

It is noteworthy that the farmers have announced their march to Delhi. Kisan Mazdoor Morcha chief Swaran Singh Pandher said that the government is not taking their demands seriously. He said that the agitation will continue until the demands of the farmers are not considered.
