Farmers’ protest in Jalore continues for the third day

Jalore : the demand to fix one-third share of Jalore on the water of Jawai Dam and to complete the crop insurance applications worth about Rs 1.25 crore pending in the Jaipur office as an appeal of the Patwar Mandals and to give compensation to the farmers on time. On the call of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, the massive protest of farmers in front of the District Collectorate continues for the third day.

Farmer leader Ratan Singh Kaniwada told that after the construction of Jawai, the water level of Jalore is falling, due to which the farmers have protested for three days under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh by reducing the water level of Jawai Dam by one-third. There is a demand to fix the share. Farmers have been reaching the protest site since morning from different villages across the district. The farmers said that the protest will continue until written assurance is given on the demand for water.
