Hamirpur, 26 November (IANS). In Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, farmers, upset over non-availability of fertilizers, pelted stones at the PCF (State Cooperative Federation) center on Tuesday. During this time, angry farmers also pelted stones at the SDM and the market secretary who were distributing fertilizers.
At the same time, after the stone pelting, a large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot, who are keeping a close watch on every activity. During this time, police forces were also seen counseling the farmers.
Farmers have told the administration that if the fertilizer problems are not resolved, the protest will become more violent in the coming days.
On the other hand, many farmers also accused the PCF officials of negligence. Farmers said that due to negligence by the officials they are not able to get fertilizer.
Let us tell you that for the last several days, there is anger among farmers in many parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh due to non-availability of fertilizers. Farmers say that they are not able to get fertilizer because of middlemen. Due to this they are facing difficulty in farming.
Due to non-availability of fertilizer at the PCF centre, farmers are forced to buy fertilizer from the market at expensive prices. Farmers say that they have complained about this to top officials several times. But, no action has been taken yet.
Earlier, in Kanpur too, farmers were in great trouble due to shortage of fertilizers. Farmers waited for their turn for hours in long queues for fertiliser, but they did not get the fertiliser.
DAP and NPK fertilizers were not available in the resource cooperative societies located in Rasulabad tehsil area and Akbarpur tehsil area of Kanpur Dehat. Due to which the farmers who were preparing for sowing potatoes and Lahi were forced to wander.
