Bharatpur : There is a fight going on to save Kalia Baba mountain in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Located in Bhusavar city, this mountain is also known as the younger brother of Govardhan Mountain. There is Dhaneri cave at the foothills of this Kaliya mountain, about which there are many beliefs. It is said that when Lord Krishna was leaving Mathurapuri and going to Dwarkapuri, he passed through this cave. It is also said that King Muchukund had killed Kalayavan in this cave. That is why sages and saints have mobilized to save this mountain of religious importance.
Government gave mountain on lease, accused of illegal mining
Balmukund Das Maharaj told that, ‘Black Mountain is the younger brother of Girraj Maharaj Mountain. Just as people’s wishes are fulfilled by circumambulating Govardhan, similarly all the wishes are fulfilled by circumambulating Kaliya mountain. Its revolution is about 24 koshas. There are more than 60 temples in this circumambulation route, at which sages and saints perform bhajans and worship. But this mountain has been given on lease by the government. Apart from this, illegal mining is being done here. Villagers are becoming victims of silicosis due to the dust blown during mining, which has also been confirmed by medical officials. The mining blasts have also caused cracks in many nearby houses, causing problems to the people.
Sadhus and saints fasted unto death for 9 days
The sages and saints want to hand over this mountain to the Devasthan Department, so that this mountain can be taken care of as its importance increases. That is why, along with the villagers living nearby, they are fighting to save the existence of Kalia Pahad. In this regard, memorandum has been submitted to Bharatpur district administration several times. The sages and saints have also met Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma who is on Bharatpur tour and submitted a memorandum. But, till now neither has the government canceled the lease of the mountain, nor has it been able to stop illegal mining. For this reason, the saints and sages also observed a fast unto death for 9 days, which ended after getting assurance from the Sub-Divisional Officer and the MLA. But even after that no hearing took place.
Now sages and saints will meet CM Bhajanlal
Now sages and saints, along with villagers, are holding small meetings at various places to save Kaliya Pahad and carrying out ‘Save Pahad Rally’. Recently, the saints had also organized a general meeting, in which a decision has been taken to meet CM Bhajanlal Sharma and apprise him about the problem.
‘Only one thought in mind – whether we will be able to see the morning ray or not’
Went to the spot and interrogated the people living around the mountain. During this, a person named Rahul told, ‘My village is Alipur. Kaliya mountain is just three kilometers away. Here, cracks have appeared in the houses due to explosions by the mining mafia. When we sleep, only one thought comes to our mind whether we will be able to see the morning rays or not. The only demand from the government is that the mining work should be stopped so that the history of Kalia Pahad remains intact.
