Fear of panther in Pali populated area, advice to be alert

Pali : Pali Sadri Municipality area, there is a fear of panther’s attack in Bhadras road and populated area. The Forest Department has advised the villagers to remain alert. The frightened women demanded Forest Department Office Access Department Ranger Ramchandra Singh to catch the panther. Department officers and forest personnel did a recce and assured to install trap cameras and cages. The panther’s knock has been heard at different places from 20th November, from Raja Park, Ashapura Colony, Dhimra Bera, Hadawa Jav, Ranakpur Road, Hanuman Colony, situated at the mouth of the Magai river in the municipal area. There is fear among the villagers due to the movement of panther population in the streets and neighborhoods from late evening to midnight. When the panther is seen, people are trying to drive it away by bursting crackers.

Dozens of women in the company of Suresh Rawal, Kundan Mali, Sanjay, Rakesh, Deepak Rawal, Prateek Vaishnav met Kubhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary Saddi Range Regional Forest Officer Ramchandra Singh Rathod. The ranger conducted a recce and assured them of installing trap cameras and cages. On Sunday night, an attempt was made to move the panther towards the forest by bursting firecrackers from Biyaji Temple in Ashapura Colony, Parela Jaav. However, on Monday morning, news of panther movement in Hanuman Colony area on Ranakpur road surfaced on social media. The departmental officer advised women to be careful and not to send children out to play late in the evening. On Sunday Monday, efforts were intensified to gather clues about the panther by doing recce under the supervision of the ranger.

Proximity to the forest and fear of panther straying there

Due to the attack of the panther in the Sadri populated area, there is a strong possibility of the panther, which recently attacked the buffalo calf in the Mada area, reaching this area or wandering in the Magai river adjacent to the forest area in search of food and water. . Last 4-5 months also, CCTV footage of panther roaming in Rajapark area had surfaced. After that, news of panther’s attack was received from Shivtalao road till Civil Court and Mada border. Villagers also captured photos in mobile cameras.
