Jodhpur : The fear of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever i.e. Congo fever has once again emerged. Five years ago in 2019, there were two deaths due to this disease. Now once again this disease has taken a life. Covid-like PPE kits and other safety measures have been seen. It does not spread as fast as Covid, but the protocols have to be followed in the same manner.
disease spread by animals
Ticks are parasites of cattle and cause Congo fever. It also takes several days to confirm this. Hemorrhagic symptoms occur in the second week after normal fever. After this its report is sent to Pune, from where it is confirmed. Earlier in 2019 also, two people had died due to this fever in Ahmedabad. Later tracing and sampling was done here. This time also tracing is being done on the same pattern.
look at contacts
Deputy CMHO Dr. Pritam Singh says that as soon as the investigation report came from Pune and instructions were received from Jaipur Medical Department, teams were sent to Nandada Kalan village. 12 contacts of the woman who died have been traced. He will be kept on surveillance for 15 to 20 days. If any symptoms are found then they will be treated accordingly. Efforts are also being made to find out from which cattle this has spread by taking samples of cattle.
