Bihar Sharif, 29 November (IANS). Now action has started regarding stubble burning in Bihar. Under this, an FIR has been registered against a farmer for burning stubble in Harnaut block of Nalanda district.
Ramji Singh, resident of Birju Milki village of Chakhmind Panchayat of Harnaut block, had burnt stubble on one bigha of land after harvesting paddy in the field of Chakhmind village. Taking this matter seriously, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Bihar Sharif has lodged an FIR against Ramji Singh under various sections. This action has been taken to prevent environmental damage caused by stubble burning and to make farmers aware.
The administration has appealed to the farmers to avoid burning stubble and adopt alternative measures for its management. This will not only keep the environment safe but will also maintain the fertility of the soil. Bihar government has started various actions against farmers who burn stubble. Farmers are also being made aware about this. Recently, action was taken against more than three thousand farmers in Rohtas district and they were deprived of all government schemes for the next three years. These schemes include paddy purchase, farmers getting grants under DBT and other facilities.
The government has taken this step with the aim of saving the environment and controlling air pollution. It is being told that incidents of burning of crop residues are being closely monitored through satellite, farmers who have burnt stubble in the fields are being identified through satellite images and immediate action is being taken against them. .
