Jhunjhunu : A fire broke out in the godown of a handloom shop in Jhunjhunu late night. When the neighbors saw smoke coming out, they informed the owner. Blankets, pillows and bedsheets kept in the shop were burnt in the fire. The incident took place near the scrap market located on number one road. On receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Earlier, shopkeepers and local people tried to extinguish the fire at their own level, but could not control it. The shop owner suffered a loss worth lakhs of rupees due to the fire. Neighbors told that smoke was coming out.
The owner of the shop, Amjad Khan, resident of Indira Nagar, said – I have a handloom shop near the scrap market on the road at number one. A warehouse has been built by taking a rented shop nearby. In which extra luggage was kept. On Thursday night, neighbors told that smoke was coming out from the shop. When they ran there, they saw that the warehouse was on fire. Tried to extinguish the fire with water at his level. Later the fire brigade was informed. The fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. But by then the goods kept inside were burnt. Amjad said that the fire caused a loss of about Rs 2 lakh. But the reasons behind the fire could not be known.
